Emergency Preparedness
Accidents or natural diasters can happen at any time and it is important to have an emergency kit ready for your pet.
Below, is a list of all the items you should have in a basic pet emergency kit.
- 3% Hydrogan peroxide with a syringe.
- Saline Eye Wash (for irrigating eyes or wounds).
- Sterile KY Jelly.
- Bandage materials and first aid tape.
- Stypic Powder.
- Digital Flexible Thermometer.
- Flashlight and batteries.
- Forceps, hemostat & bandage scissors.
- Leash or nylon stocking that can be also be used as a muzzle or tourniquet.
- Fresh/Bottled water.
- Supply of pet food.
- Pet's medications.
- Benedryl (Diphenhydramine).
- Pet's microchip ID, rabies tag or other identifying information.
- Pet's medical records, including your clinics phone number and address.
- Current photograph of pet (in case of loss or seperation).
- A pet carrier with collapsible or non-spill bowls.
