Emergency Preparedness

 

Accidents or natural diasters can happen at any time and it is important to have an emergency kit ready for your pet. 

Below, is a list of all the items you should have in a basic pet emergency kit.    

  • 3% Hydrogan peroxide with a syringe.
  • Saline Eye Wash (for irrigating eyes or wounds).
  • Sterile KY Jelly.
  • Bandage materials and first aid tape.
  • Stypic Powder.
  • Digital Flexible Thermometer.
  • Flashlight and batteries.
  • Forceps, hemostat & bandage scissors.
  • Leash or nylon stocking that can be also be used as a muzzle or tourniquet.
  • Fresh/Bottled water.
  • Supply of pet food.
  • Pet's medications.
  • Benedryl (Diphenhydramine).
  • Pet's microchip ID, rabies tag or other identifying information.
  • Pet's medical records, including your clinics phone number and address.
  • Current photograph of pet (in case of loss or seperation).
  • A pet carrier with collapsible or non-spill bowls.
